I currently have Q6600 at stock, Asus P5Q pro turbo , basic 4GB ram 800mhz, bfg 9800gt card, 1Tb WDB HDD, this cooler
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... ce=froogle and this case
http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgur ... s%3Disch:1. i struggle to OC my cpu atm because of the temps, anything about 2.6-2.7 goes over 60-65C at full load. So i plan to buy a cooling solution for my future expantion to i7 that will let me OC my Q6600 in the mean time, then buy a new gpu, then eventually replace my mobo, chip and ram once i have saved up the money. So this cooler im buying i want to take alot further than the q6600. hope that makes sence
What stepping is your Q6600? The older B3 stepping will be hard to get much over 3.0.
That intake fan on the side may cause clearance issues for the Thermaltake JAE suggested or the Noctua DH-14 I suggested. Better check that.
Either cooler is a good choice. I think overall the DH-14 is the better value since it comes with two high quality fans.
If clearance is an issue with that side fan, and you want to keep it, then perhaps the CoolIT or Corsair water coolers is the way to go.
I can tell you though that the DH-14 comes with all the mounting hardware you'll need for the Q6600, the i5 CPUs, and the i7 CPUs. I have one. It runs much cooler than my old TRUE (at least 5C).
