Ocing asus LP 1gb ddr3 HTPC 6570

Thu May 17, 2012 8:30 pm

Well with Diablo 3 on my tiny HTpc i decided to overclock my asus low profile ddr3 1gb 6570 amd card with 480 sps.So i installed good ole MSI afterburner.Stock clocks on that asus card are 650 for the core and 900 for the memory.
My initial run of 3dmark11 gave me a score of 1189 so my overclocking adventure begins,so i started with 50mnhz on the core a 25mhz on the memory and everything was stable.
To make a long story short you cannot enable voltage tweaking with ABurner on this 6570 card but i ended up after about 5 3dmark 11 benches i had the core and memory sliders on the afterburner app maxed out at 800 on the core and 1050 on the memory raising my 3dmark11 score from 1189 to 1491.
Its totally stable and temps never rise above 55c I am pretty amazed with this  played D3 for over a hour with no artifacts or hiccups. I think i will try another program like sapphire trix or something to see if i can find a ceiling on this card with stock volts.

Anyone with some other program that will allow me to go higher please let me know.I do not plan on upping the voltage on the card at all with my dinky 220 watt psu:)
UPDATE: loaded up sapphires trixx software and ended up with 900 on the core and 1100 on the memory raising my 3dmark11 score to 1618.But the 40% overclock on the core with stock volts is amazing 200 on the ddr3 memory is nice also.So basically i have a 6670 with ddr3 instead of gddr5 .I know for sure i have a gpu mem bottleneck since a 6670 at 850mhz max overclock i have seen on one btw, score around 1800 3dmark 11 plus wattage is a good 15-20watts higher with gddr5.
I am a very happy camper. Also power profiles are intact so it drops to 100mhz not doing anything. and i will only overclock my saved settings when gaming not watching 1080p blu rays. but i am a very happy camper here.

This is what I used when I had an ATI 5770.

http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=733

It has profile support so it'll go back to the stock profile when not in a program that requires 3D mode, helping to keep the case cool.

I don't think any particular OC program is going to be giving you better/worse results than another, though - it's all on the card to be stable at whatever speed you select.
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.
