HIS 6850 Replacement Fan?

Sat Jun 30, 2012 11:17 pm

I bought a used 6850 here on the forums. Everything has been good, the card was everything advertised and even came with EVERYTHING original, so I'm not complaining by any means.

However, the stock fan on it is starting to make the little chatter sound of bearings going out. Instead of waiting for it to seize up on my one day, I'd like to try to find a replacement. Unfortunately it seems like the HIS 6850 design fan (AMD reference I think...) isn't available anywhere online? I would have thought that with this design being so common on AMD cards for the last few generations that some replacement fans would be available online. Anyone know something about this? I'd be interested in replacing this one with a better than stock one, but with an OEM fit so as not to need to replace the shroud or the entire heatsink.

Ya I thought about those hehehe, believe me, the hardware tweaker in me would love to buy one of those :) (or a water cooling block)... but Its only a 6850, I'd do it if it were a 6950 or better perhaps.
