Over-clocking kills C&Q on Gigabyte mobo?

Cool & Quiet feature on GA-790XTA-UD4 stopped working after Phenom II 720 on it was over clocked. This was about 5 years ago. Is this true with any newer Gigabype motherboard?

The cool and quiet on my Phenom II 720 always did weird things like slowing music playback until something else was running. From what I remember Cool & Quiet was a separate option from the clock speed and overlocking stuff. Maybe it got turned off while you were changing things? I doubt a new mobo would fix this though as I think the C&Q is on the processor.

Thanks for your reply. I have just tried OC on GA-970A-UD3 running FX6300 and found the C&Q still works.
