I have a 160 gig here that is making a somewhat musical noise. It is making a sound like the head is bad, clicking, and then goes on to make a musical noise, almsot like a cell phone ringing, after that noise it makes another noise that sounds like a fragmented hard drive. I was wondering what all of this means, and if it means that the hard drive is broken, is there a place i can get the data recoverd for around or under $100?

I had no operating system on it, and there was 53 gigs free space out of the 152 on there. It was also inside an external enclosuer that hooked up through usb.

Must be all that p0rn and/or rap not getting along well Have you tried a drive utility to see if the drive is going south on you?
