IDE - Split Reads on RAID 1

Do any of the IDE RAID controllers support split reads in a RAID 1 configuration? By split read I mean the reading of alternate blocks of data from alternate, or available drives. Clearly a write would still be in parallel..

I know 3ware does, which is probably one reason it cleaned up in the read scores so completely. Some others might.
