Nero hangs when trying to detect CDRW

CDRW is a TDK 48x burner. When loading Nero, it scans for the IDE drives but then hangs. Is there any reason for this?

Try to remove the burner and see if it still hangs, it could be faulty hardware.

Not sure what was the problem, just exchanged the 40pin IDE cable with an 80pin one and made sure all the connectors were put in tight. Works fine now.

Was it a UDMA 66 /ATA66 burner that was locked in that mode, then it requires a 80pin cable.

Anyway, its good that it works now.
