Nice. I don't think you've over done it at all. The case for my new file server came in today.
I'm a little perplexed at the amount of SSD's. Are you using them as cache?

More serioursly.. are those 4 drives that will be in RAID 0 or are you being more conservative and doing RAID 1+0 (or even JBOD if you can split up the data)?
Are you doing a big RAM disk cache with the memory?

Yes your system is faster than mine. But mine is old enough to operate as a time machine so that I can be a roadie for Hüsker Dü. So therefore mine is *AWESOMER*.

The 32GB of RAM go into a new DTR Laptop with an Ivy Bridge and 680M I pre-ordered.
512GB of that SSD storage is going into the DTR Laptop alongside a 750GB WD Scorpio black.
The remaining 512GB will go into my desktop alongside a 2TB WD Caviar black.
Not expecting to RAID.
