Raid-Hard or Soft SSDs,Scratchdrive Video edit

Looking at 2 Samsung 256GB 840 Pros for video editing scrach drive.
(Don't need that size BUT want max write speed)
Found a link here (forums) to Tomshardware that showed 1GB/S reads and little less writes
with these drives raided.

Am (sure?) I would want to connect these to my ONLY 2 intel sata III connections.
(Motherboard Asus Sabertooth X79, W7/64)

My boot SSD (128GB 840 Pro) would have to go to one of the
"Marvel 9128" or "ASMedia 1061" sata III conections but then there
is the worry of TRIM not getting through (?)

Read bad things of Marvel with that but don't know ASMedia.

Thoughts Welcome!
