Widows acting differently since install of LG 34UM95 monitor

Tue Mar 24, 2015 10:00 am

Ever since the install of my new LG 34UM95 monitor that connects to my system via Display port windows has been acting a little different and I do not recall changing any setting whatsoever.

The main thing is when I start GPUZ, CPUZ, speedfan or anything that has a Administrators symbol next to it no longer asks for my permission to start...they just start right up now.
Does anyone know what might be the cause of this ?

Also I think this is normal but this is the most ram I have ever had in a computer so since I went from 8gb, 2 x 4gbsticks of memory, to 16gb, 2 x 8gb sticks of memory After my PC has been on for around 8 hour to 20 hrs. When I looked at the resource monitor I was using like 7.95gb of ram and the resource manager says 7.35 gb is cache. I am guessing it is storing information from everything I surfed and did in the time it was on.

On the UAC part, check Control Panel > User Accounts > Change User Account Control settings and see if the slider has been moved from it's default (which iirc is the 2nd notch from the top "Notify me only when apps try to make changes to my computer").

As far as memory usage, it's probably SuperFetch doing it's magic trying to pre-load things into the cache, which is now substantially larger now that you have so much more memory. You shouldn't be worried about cache usage however, as Windows treats free memory and cached memory similarly when it comes time to allocate it to an application.
