Easy 2000 Question

Sat Sep 21, 2002 2:29 pm

I have a 8 Gig Seagate drive thats partitioned in two (got it from an older comp). How do I format it in 2000 and get it up and running to use for mp3's or sumsuch other purpose.

Stick the drive in the computer.
Right click on "my computer"and choose manage ... or go to 'control panel/administrative tools/computer management'

In computer management window click on 'disk manager'

Right click on desired disk, and from there it's kind of self evident.

actually, no. all i have is the option to convert it to a dynamic disk. well, there is an option to format the partitions when I right click on those, but it asks for a volume label. would it format the entire disk or just that partition?
