This is more an annoyance than anything, but it's got me frustrated...

I burned a 13meg .exe file onto a CD to take home (it's a mod for Half-Life) and while everything works fine here on my work PC, when I take the thing home I have some problems. Whenever I navigate on the CD - I don't even have to open the file itself, just navigate in the same directory it's in - my machine locks up completely. Everything freezes solid, and I have to power off. If I'm navigating in any other directory on the CD, it's fine.

If I open a DOS window I can navigate, but as soon as I start to open or copy the file, my machine locks as before.

I've tried various CD's and always the same result. I've burned a ton of other mods using the exact same settings on my burn program, and I've never seen this before.

I'm running Win2000 Professional here at work, and Win98 on my home box.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has seen something like this before. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
