Whenever i burn a cd in winxp (regardless of whether i use their burner prog or a 3rd party one) and then insert the burned cd into my recorder (due to a mobo problem i can only have one cd drive hooked up at a time) it opens the write cd dialog. i cant navigate thru the cd or use it. is there any way to close the cd using the xp burner so that i can use it?

Do you finalize the CDs? It could be that it detects an open multisession CD, and assumes you want to continue writing.

Wheres the option to finalize? i haven't been able to find it.

Personally, I think the XP burning software is garbage and still use Nero.

but its sooooo convenient And for some reason my clunky, half-dead burner ALWAYS completes cds without error using the xp burner while it has a 30-40% failure rate using other progs
