Hi Guy,

I burn 1 WIn7Pro 64bit dvd and plan to install on my new build rig, when it reach the window 7 screen during device scan
,a error message will pop out mention driver/device not found..

I wonder what kind of outcome did they expect ?

I try to tweak my BIOS from IDE to AHCI als not working

I am using this motherboard Asus M4A87TD/USB3 .

Btw i am using a IDE DVDROM hence it is located on primary drive too

It shall not be the setting on BIOS , because it able to load my win7ES32bit without problem

You said you're burning a Windows 7 64-bit DVD, where did you get the image from, and are you sure it's not an image that malware designers have tampered with?

Presumably if 32-bit installs without a problem, it's not a hardware issue, though a memory test would be a good start.

Hi mike,

I have test that on virtualbox and it is working fine , as for the imaging integrity i can ensure it is working correctly..:)

I know someone who had same problem. they were using a pirate copy of win7.
once they downloaded a different image of same (win7 x64), the install went thru without a hitch.

if i recall correctly, it was an early release of win7 that did not work for them.

or.. maybe, the optical drive in question isn't x64 compatible? you said "ide dvd-rom", how old is it?

I installed Win7 RC1 on my old machine, which had an IDE DVD writer and didn't get this problem. I'm not saying "that definitely can't have anything to do with it" though.
