Burning software in windows 7---problem!!!

System specs:
GA-870A-UD3 MB
AMD 1090T
Windows 7 ultimate

I have tried different burning programs, both paid & free. None of these programs will see my dvd writer as a destination.

The burn capability in win 7 has no problems.

Help.
