PC Freezes Frequently

Sat Oct 20, 2012 1:44 pm

Hi,

My PC would freeze now and then, however, it now freezes about every minute or two. I then have to press ctr + alt + delete to free it. But in a minute or two it freezes again. This happens with three different browser I used.

Sometimes that does not work and I must use a number of key combos to unfreeze it. If that does not work, I must use Scan Disk to get the PC working and that does not last long.

I would appreciate help with this problems, please.

My O.S. is Windows ME

Thanks in advance,
dede

Hard disk is going bad perhaps, sounds like to me.
It would take you 2,363 continuous hours or 98 days,11 hours, and 35 minutes of gameplay to complete your Steam library.
In this time you could travel to Venus one time.

Does the PC also date back to the Windows ME days? If so, there's a high probability that the motherboard is failing due to dying capacitors. Take a look at the motherboard and see if any of the capacitors are bulging or leaking.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Hi fellas!
Thank you very much for your help!

Yes. my PC is old, a 1997 Dell Dimension XPX H266.

I plan on building a new PC. I want this one to work until I get all my parts researched.

I will take a look at my motherboard.

Thanks again!
