'Load needed DLLs for kernel'

Fri Nov 02, 2012 3:42 am

I brought my my win7 disc in for a colleague to use my second licence, he has a Dell Inspiron 6400 running XP

I booted up, stuck in the win7 disc and then it started whirring and then froze. I just restarted expecting it to boot into setup, however we're getting the error message 'Load needed DLLs for kernel'

Any ideas what is causing this? The disc seemed fine in my win7 computer as I'm running the OS!

Any ideas?

That seems to be talking about missing DLLs in the installed copy (on the hard drive). He's trying to boot from the installation DVD, not the hard drive.

My guess is that the DVD drive is bad.

My suggestion would be to try using an external DVD drive.

I have the microsoft xbox360 hddvd drive.....it is useless for the xbox, But it works perfectly as a external dvd drive. Fixed a few netbooks with it from xp to vista.
