I added Media Center feature to W8 Pro and tried to play VOB video. I double clicked the file and the Windows Media Player said there is no video in the library. I added it to the library but still no avail. What could be wrong with this Windows 8 or add-on WMC?

First thing I'd try: grab a copy of VLC and see if that plays back the file. If it does, the issue is with Media Centre; I'd suggest using a package that will let you move the video data into a different container without transcoding. Not sure which tools would be good for that.

If VLC won't play it, the file is almost certainly corrupt.

I tried VLC Player and WinDVD, and both could play the VOB video saved on my hard drive. I wonder if there is anyone who could make W8 add-on Windows Media Center play DVD video.
