Download buttons not always working (?)

Postposted on Fri Jan 31, 2014 11:56 am

Using firefox from 20 up to current.

W7x64 (2 of). one has AVG free and one Spybot pro. Paid
XPx32 (1of). Has AVG free

Some download buttons work some do not.
Best example is adobe flash download button.

If I hover my mouse over the button I just get something like
"www.adobe.com" . No access to file I want to download.

I can only get the file access if I use my Virtual XP mode in W7!
Only then do ALL the download buttons work correctly.

Looking at my "add ons" I have VLC 2.1.0.0 and
Intel Web component installer 3.0.72.0. Don't know where that
came from (did update my MB device drivers tho.)--Disabled the Intel ones.

Thoughts Very Welcome!
Thanks,

When that has happened to me, I click on the disabled button, and then, magically, it becomes enabled. At that point I click it a second time and it works.
