Ok just a bit of curiousity on my side, but does anyone run their linux systems in single user mode?

only when I really hose something up, and then only long enough to fix whatever it was that I broke.

Ditto. No reason to white out 'multi-user' off the virtual box, y'know? I don't miss DOS *that* much.
