No correction necessary. Sony doesn't even expose all parts of the Cell Broadband Engine. According to what I looked up on Wikipedia, it *was* possible to expose the RSX to Linux with
firmware version 2.10 and earlier.
If you HAVEN'T tried Linux on PS3, it's surprisingly usable. Yellow Dog 6.0 includes a flash wrapper so most Flash content works pretty well in Firefox and even includes MOL (Mac on Linux) should you want to try to get Mac OS 9.04 and earlier running. 3D gaming, OTOH, seems limited to MesaGL.
