I've never really heard good things about Mandrake, in fact just the opposite, but on Speed's recommendation, I'm going to give it a try. This release does sound too tempting to pass up. Looking for a fast download now...

After 8 hours of trying, I'm finally getting the last of disc 1. Once I get all 3, and get it installed, I plan on writing a review. Stay tuned.

Try
ftp://carroll.cac.psu.edu

Once you're connected it's pretty speedy, but it's got a sort of low concurrent user cap.

Of course, it's even speedier if you can, like me, download from a computer on PSU's main campus. Opera was reporting something like 5MB/sec when I grabbed the 8.2 iso's thismorning.

I've used Mandrake for a while and I like it. Pretty easy to setup.

I got mine from ftp.uwsg.indiana.edu. It saturated my cable connection; I doubt I could provide anything faster.
