Hi,

Complete linux noob, trying to get my EeePC 900HA and egalax touchscreen to work.

If anyone has some experience and can help, that'd be great.

So I've found that the module 'evtouch' is not loaded.
So I downloaded evtouch 0.8.8 which is in a tar.gz.
How do I install the module?

by just brew it!
Looks like instructions are here: https://ssl.webpack.de/www.conan.de/tou ... touch.html

However, this appears to be a rather old (6+ years) driver. Not sure how much luck you're going to have getting it working with newer distros.

You might have better luck grabbing the Egalax driver from the Ubuntu 12.04 repository if Puppy Linux doesn't include it by default?

Thanks,

Turns out to be just a calibration problem, and trying to using tools intended for different (evtouch or egalax) drivers.

Using evdev drivers and manual (modifying xorg.conf file with trial and error) calibration works sweet.

Now to figure out the 'right click'....

Lots of times right click is a touch and hold for some amount of time, usually until the context menu pops up.

Hello, can you please expand on the evdev drivers and puppy? Are you just going straigth to addding entries to xorg.conf for evdev on a clean install or did you have to grab either evtouch or egalax? I have been fighting with evtouch driver, then with egalax driver, and neither seem to have any effect. Out of the box with no additional drivers, the screen has touch response, just in need of configuration. (puppy distro 5.6.0.) Any additional insight for the aging lazy engineer? Thanks
