Hello Folders!

Sorry to be like silent marauders but we started up a few weeks ago and have been collecting systems to Fold ever since. We hope to get our Folding CPU count to 50 before long.

We have our set our gaze upon drfish (the doc) of course but see that TheBank is a force of over 100 CPUs to be reckoned with. The doc is already sweating them I hear :P

Fold on!

Great to hear from you arpstorm. :D It's good to have a new force on the team to goad us on.

Thanks for checking in.

the doc? Have you been frequenting my other stomping ground? No one here calls me doc...

BTW, TheBank is more than welcome to pass me (after a bloody battle of course), it's Icon that I'm sweatin'

Regardless, I eagerly await the day you challenge me, regardless of what place I'm in at the time... I may drop to 2nd or 3rd, but I will defend it as if it were the holy throne of 1st place.

Hey, has anyone one that lost the crown ever taken it back?

We too look forward to that day of reckoning. We're still building our numbers at arpstorm. In fact we're in the top 20 producers AGAIN. Even when we get up enough raw speed we still quite a few light years to cross before we get near sector 001, your sector drfish.

BTW our user name is borrowed from networking and security. See http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/vulninfo/vuln.aspx?id=32460

Yeah, when I first saw your name as a new folder, I recognized it and thought it was a bad-ass folding nick.

Belated welcome to the team, arp.

All members of arpstorm have experience in computer networks and distributed applications. Naturally we had to devise a bad-ass nickname to fold under, and it had to networking related - we could do no less 8) Given the impressive and august membership of The Tech Report, we don't want a whimpy sounding nickname to Fold under.

ah, welcome to the fold, young one

I will have Stubb on the lookout for you over the far horizon.

and i don't believe anyone has ever come back to take the crown.

Thanks Leor!

Greetings mighty Leor. Thanks for the come-back :)

arpstorm is still coming up to speed and it will be a while before we even show up on your long range sensors. Fine tune them for an H2O signature, as our team hails from the Pacific Northwest - a bit north of deque_alpha's Folding farm. You should be able to see him just fine.

We're not sure who the faithful Stubb might be though ..

Good Folding!

Yep, now its just tracking the machine down. I'm sure when setting up all those machines in a short period of time one might make such a mistake.

haha, I will remember that. Seem like a good thing for all of us to pick up, you don't want to end up typing in 64 instead of 2630 by mistake. :)

Avast me hearties!

Damn! But today was a good day to Fold.

3,829 points today, our highest to date, and 56 Active processors within 7 days. Look at that production curve, upwards and to the right with no knee in the curve! Out freaking standing!

Nicely done arpstorm!

Waiter! More Red Hook for me and my Folders! Thank you 8)

Hey there arpstorm!

That is a very impressive group of Folders you have assembled. Very threatening, very powerful, and growing rapidly in numbers.

The cure for cancer, altzheimers, and stupidity is one step closer, thanks to you.

Let me share this fine bottle of Romulan Ale with you, in celebration of your new membership in The Tech Report.

Nice graph indeed ArpStorm. You should be proud. :D

Go easy on that Romulan Ale. It's got a kick that will shoot you into the Neutral Zone faster than Warp 9.

The Trouble with Tribbles

This Start Trek stuff reminds me of an old favorite episode from the original series - The Trouble With Tribbles.

The Klingon says something like this to Scotty:

"You’re right—I should...I didn’t mean that the Enterprise should be hauling garbage...I meant that it should be hauled away AS garbage...! Hahahahaw!"

At which point Scotty loses it and the bar brawl ensues.

The scipt is here: http://www.benbellabooks.com/gerrold/Tribbles.pdf

I noticed a pair of names in the last week that were similar to arpstorm, but not quite identical. There was one with an extra "t" in it ("arptstorm"), and another with a leading "_", ("_arpstorm"). So, I think you might want to look at the boxes you've got running and make sure the names are all set correctly.

If you check soon enough, this link will work: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_summary.php?s=&t=2630

Well, the new joins have pushed the first name off the list now, so oh well.

arpstorm is team rank 85

Wohoo!

arpstorm has managed some consistent momentum huh? We're consistently in the top 20 producers. Good job everybody! Next term we should be able to swell our numbers by recruiting members of the next class.

So far we are still no threat to LordIcon, who has taken first place from drfish. And emkubed, Nulfire/Druid, TheBank and mighty Leor remain unimpressed and unthreatened by our progress.

But even though we threaten TheJuggernaught, ichafee, Steel, and cass, they are light years away from us. We must remain true to our cause.

Warp speed ahead!

Keep up the good work indeed. :)

You're doing some great folding, and oohhh, you passed 100k total yesterday. A great milestone. It won't be long until you're up there with the bigger guys. Congratulations!
