Hey there UnitedGerbilNation

arpstorm's average dialy output exceeds your own by a good margin. However you folks have a considerable lead over us, and at present production rates it will be about a year before we pass your bow. Didn't mean to diss y'all - yet :D

Break out some Red Hook Ale and keep it on ice and on the ready. We can toast to us all in a year - hopefully sooner with new recruits!

you're a couple hundred points from my threats list and the 6th producer overall, i'd say you have good reason to be pleased with yourselves.

for my part, it's time to tighten the sails to counter your warp speed, i like a nice, clean threats list unmarred by any unsightly red, no matter how far off it is.

Hey Leor! It's a good thing Arpy just started folding because you have a lot of sail tightening to do.

Arpstorm has over 100 CPUs working for them. :o

No wonder they thumbed their nose at UGN.

they're looking pretty anemic for having 100 CPUs

i see stanford lists them as having 113 with 71 active over 7 days.

that's a lot of CPUs to be averaging under 5k per day . . .

i'm listed as 59/45

I've got less than 50 and I'm clocking in at around 8,500 points a day... Don't know what's wrong with all you people... ;)

Actually size probably does matter, there are only a handful of computers in my farm that are less than 2Ghz (3 to be exact)... The biggest help is that they the ALL run 24/7 though...

Size vs Duty factor vs Mzh

OhHO! What's all this banter about arpstorm having 115 Active Processors within 50 days and 68 Active Processors within 7 days - yet only averaging 4422 points per day (a 7-day average)?

Yet in one month we have climbed up to slot 80.

Granted some of our numbers are not running 24x7 or some of our room mates would be throwing computers out of dorm windows! And some of our machines are not state of the art, as many of our number are students.

Just wait! The spring term begins in one week and we'll be adding more Folders to the arpstorm fold 8)

Fold on!

that's fine, i'm about to crack 5k per day (and i noticed you little gerbils are right next to 4k per day good job!)

i think having half the CPUs of arpstorm, i cen keep them off my threats list.

i'm gonna try anyway :)

Addicted to Folding

Yo jeffry55!

Whoawza! It was such a nice warm sunny day today in the Pacific Northwest that I spent most of it outdoors with a buddy and a chainsaw making rounds out of a fallen maple tree. So I missed the Top 20 Producers update but saw your note here.

You're right! arpstorm now outproduces the noble and mighty Leor - ownage! Now we set our gaze upon that presumptuous and irascible drfish who has been righteously been taken down a notch by LordIcon.

Alas, Leor and drfish are still light years ahead of arpstorm, so it's time to trim the sails, pump out the bilge, spit over the rail, and watch the Folding farm closely.

Fold on!

Fold on indeed!! I hope to see your numbers continue to rise in the weeks ahead. :D

The Top 20 Producers list is getting more exciting isn't it? It's Leor ahead of arpstorm. No wait! it's arpstorm ahead of Leor. And now Leor once again pulls ahead of arpstorm.

Free entertainment while Folding. Such a deal!

Uhuh, I know what you're thinking. Does he Fold with 6 CPUs or only five ... To tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I kind of lost track myself....

And arpstorm is going to blow past me in a couple of days, especially with the crappy WUs I am getting on my Intel machines.

Oh well. Good luck on future conquests.

A hee hee hee hee hahaha *ka-boom* :o

You bunch of old farts! What's all this crzp about bztchzes? You guys watch way too much television or something. Talk is cheap. You gotta walk the walk not talk the talk.

arpstorm remains unimpressed with all this chest pounding from y'all. No doubt you're still using classic warp drives with dilithium crystal chambers. Hahahahahawww. Definitely pre-NCC1701 stuff.

Now excuse us while we play some DOOM3 ...

idchafee threatens arpstorm in the Top 20 Producers? Say it ain't so! I guess he's stopped Folding for SereneScreen then, not that I blame him. They have not been worthy of attention lately.

Truth be told the last two days have been DOG days for Folding here in the pacific northwest. Daily outputs of merely ~3000 points won't do at all, nosireebob. The scope of this effects even The Tech Report collective as if a great inhibiting hyperspace wavefront washed over our Folding farms.

Meanwhile The Bank continues to grow in strength - THEY are the enemy, not noble Leor or the generous idchafee.

Eh Leor don't diss DOOM3 unless you have the horsepower to play this powerdrain of a game. But it does distract the central processing units from Folding ...

Fold on!

ah, current setup: a64@ 2.46 ghz with a BFG 6800 Ultra OC

new setup in a couple of weeks: dual opterons with SLI on nforce 4 board.

that enough for ya?

Hey Leor those are nice specs all right. Kudos for using AMD hardware, and the nVidia 6800 Ultra is also very sweet. I have held back getting the latest nVidia/ATI barnburners since I got an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Extended Macintosh Edition last year. It has 256Meg of VRAM.

What I really want is one of those nice 30-inch Apple displays, which needs a 6800 to drive it at full resolution on account of the SLI DVI requirement.

What kind of super duper displays do you run, noble one?

a friend of mine is working on one of those, it is truley awe inspiring.

for myself i haven't gone LCD yet because of color fidelity and my design work. i am currently running 2 Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2070SB's.

LCD vs CRT color

Leor

A few of my pals are into digital photography and they swear by their calibrated CRTs and swear at their LCDs. Besides the subjective judgement, I understand that the viewing angle of the LCD is limited, and you get color shifts to the left and right. Also the color gamut of the LCD is not as broad as the CRT. However see http://www.canphoto.net/articles/showarticle.php?id=18

BTW on the Top 20 Producers list it seems that Leor, idchafee, and arpstorm are neck in neck and trading places a bit, but not threatening to drfish. What are we going to do about that? We need to whipe that smirk of drfish's mug.

Fold on!
