All right you Gerbils, we now have 55 CPUs reporting to Stanford in the last 50 days and our points production is not going up. What gives!?

Leave those PCs on 24/7 and one less hour of gaming per day! :wink:

my machines were down from friday till late monday afternoon. i was out of town and just couldn't leave them runnig... sorry
but now i'm back with added strength.... UnitedGerbilNation WILL prevail!!!

Well I do my best, my rigs left going while Im at uni,in fact stays on all day (I dont pay he bills). But the money I had to spend on it was tight and very little ent to making it queit. Im sorry but there is no way I can sleep with this running 1m from my head! Not to mention the 600 pointers I get seem to misteriously dissapear, I should keep a closer eye on EM3.

today i added my old duron 1.6 to the nation. i had to search for some network card and some cat5 cable in the dark room... finally found them. anyway, that's the added strength i was talking about. :wink:

yep, did it. right now i'm quite mad 'cause i can't convince (yet) one of my friends to fold. he uses unix and open source software only. when he saw that F@H code is not open-source he told me that he doesen't agree to join folding. so, any tips on this one?

Try telling him this... it's from the <a href="http://folding.stanford.edu/faq.html">F@H FAQ</a>:

Q: Why don't you post the source code?

A: Most of the critical parts of FAH are publicly available. The Tinker and Gromacs source codes can be downloaded and run. Unlike many computer projects, the paramount concern is not functionality, but the scientific integrity, and posting the source code in a way that would allow people to reverse engineer the code to produce bogus scientific results would make the whole project pointless.

I sort of had the same concerns before I started folding, but then I realized, it's about the science. So I jumped in and didn't regret it.

The membership drive must be paying off. We are up to 60 CPUs on the Stanford Stats page!

Now lets put those CPU cycles to work. Push those numbers up to 5000 ppd!

my main machine is crunching through a 600 pointer right now

. i guess that it'll finish it tomorrow. hope so anyway.
but this is not good enough. we need more Gerbils. so all of you who can, spread the word!
btw, i'm in talks with one of my cousins. helped him out a couple of times so he kind of owes me.... he has a p4 2.8. hopefully......

Just finished a 600 a couple of hours ago. The second one this week for UGN.
But... on the same PC (Pentium M), it will later finish a 364 pointer in a few hours (almost half done already) - OMG, that is over 550 PPD on this otherwise weak folding CPU (it does Tinkers just over 100 PPD).
The AMDs seem to do all projects at roughly the same speed (+/- 30%).
I'm going to keep swap projects between PCs to keep Tinkers and small Gromacs far far away from the Pentium M. It's good for medical research and good for UGN and TR.

according to stanford i only have 3 more active CPUs than you, and over 1,000 more PPD.

and about 15 of my CPUs are p3's.

you'll need a bit more to bite my ankles.

i'm adding a pair of opteron 250s next week, as well as a couple of athlon MPs following soon after.

i still have 3x p4 3.2s promised to me in the near future as well.

i've retaken 5th place in terms of production and i don't see myself losing that anytime soon, unless juggernaut makes another push, or idchafee finds his heart.

i think we can do that.... right now the eoc stats page says we're only 600ppd behind him. that means that with the aid of some new members we could get on his threat list. that would really be irritating, right? :wink:
