PinTO's scores don't seem to be affected much. I was getting crappy SMP WUs but we are talking about a drop from 900ppd down to 500ppd. We are at least 25000ppd down from our "usual" rate of output. Since you said your main rig is up, I am going to speculate that you have another rig not back online yet and GJ is still on hibernation with may be just 1 rig going (he's trying to sell his GTX 295 too but I think that one has been down the whole summer). 25k ppd is like 2-3 GPU folding nodes down. I'm still doing my part the whole time with a comparatively small 1300-1700ppd through 2 SMP nodes. I'm hoping to bring up another one soon (with the WHS build I am planning), but I'm limiting my budget so it is not going to be like an i7/i5 monster. At best it is going to be another 900-1000ppd but that's about it. A bit later than that there will be a contraction and one of those 2 older nodes will be retired.
Certainly with the days of 30k+ ppd collectively, a few hundred points swings won't be that significant?

Future upgrade could be two 5850s or a 5870 to replace my GTX285. I want to see how the AMD cards fold, but the noise levels and low power draws are very very tempting. Not to mention the performance.

Better wait on that, from the shortbread yesterday, sites are claiming that ATi cards just suck on points when it comes to folding. They are waiting for OpenCL to kick in the cards can be better tuned for folding. But hey, it is your money and your candy, soget what you want. Just giving the heads up.

Gerbil Jedidiah wrote:Have no fear! I'm in no hurry to replace my GTX285. I usually wait for videocards to show up on Newegg's open item list. That's how I got the GTX295 for $329 back when they retailed for $549.

At least it still seems I'm still getting some work done for the UGN, so at least I'm not totally useless. Just keeping the UGN warm for you guys until after Halloween.

UGN has been a big supporter of Frankie. However the fact that UGN production still remains pretty good and Frankie kind of stuck in the 10k ppd "doldrums" I would say not many of the rigs have been moved yet. Must be people too busy or simply forget.MaxTheLimit wrote:By the by, is there anyone else still pushing numbers for the UGN? Production seems pretty good considering folks are migrating over to Frankie...

Especially those GPU folders.

Oh, so there is a place for Halloween? Sorry, I just saw it. The name is TRFrankenBot, right?
