Damned warm in here! Warmer day outside. May need the AC before long.

Is that sorta what I should see?

These monitoring software can do the whole farm, so once you get the any CPU Folding client going you can add that and you have an overall view of your farm. 8)

Sounds like your nodes are chugging along just fine.

So today is only the 3 8800GTS cards folding. I'm not going to turn on anything else. If the software is right I should output about 14-15.5k per day. If that's the case, does that mean I'm the only one folding for the UGN now? :(
The last 6 days look to be about what I might expect just the node ( which is all I've been running lately ) to output.
Other than Jeffry ( as he is not about ) who else is left still going for the UGN?

I switched back to UGN after my extended tests on the A3's. About 3k ppd (will be less once I retire one of my older S939 X2 box) but it is a drop in the bucket when we are faced with 100k ppd advances. :o

UGN has good time and slow times. I imagine you are not the only folder. FF is folding, Jeffry is probably just got a down machine.

One thing to note is that the monitoring software is giving you best case scenario. It doesn't take into account time in between WUs when they are loading up/down. All it does is look at the time between your most recent steps and calculate out the PPD.

I had three failed units :(
Damn my crappy internet connection. I'm pretty sure that is the cause.

mmmmm.... cheeeeeeese ///

Well, major upgrades to my farm are probably on hold for a while. We're hoping be moving in July (I'll know for sure in a couple of weeks), and we're gonna need all the money we can scrape together to soak up the 100K loss we're gonna take on our house here in lovely New Jersey.

I'm getting promoted and transferred to Charlotte, NC. You can get twice the house there for half the cost. Gotta love it. I've got my mind set on 4 bed 3 bath 3 car garage, full finished walkout basement... And I shall have a media room. I will move the computer so far from the main area that I can run two GTX 480s and not have to worry about the noise. Woohoo!

I'm all, I have been OUT of the loop for a long while. I lost the MSI motherboard to PCIe bux failure. Don't know what happened. Then lost my job and had to pack out of the IN to Rochester, NY. Only folding with my GTX260. I'm really trying to get back into the grid, but no promises.

Relieved that you have checked back in with us. Don't worry, take care of your life first. Then we will worry about those pesky pursuers. We will rise again!

I'm working this weekend. I've set and left all ( including gaming ) machines for the weekend. Hopefully they hold up the whole time, and manage some good numbers. I may even get the media center folding. I wonder how a 5470 would produce though?

Sorry to triple post, but I thought I should let everyone know that my numbers have been down for the week because of home network issues. I'll get them back in line by the weekend hopefully.

My central air died today. I simply cannot have all these computers running in this heat. I should be back up and running in 2-3 days. Have a guy coming out to do a repair. Unless the temperature in here drops to 27 or so, I am simply to warm to run a heat machine like the folding node.

Did you see the update just now?

Time Points WUs
12.20, 12pm 64,202 4
12.20, 9am 1,059 3
12.20, 6am 1,059 3
12.20, 3am 1,842 4
12.20, 12am 1,106 3

Around 62000 points should be my first attempt with a -bigadv WU. All I can say is wow. :o The whole thing is massive though, took me 68 hours to complete but boy... :o

You coming home anytime soon? ;)

I hope leor is reading this. I would assume he has a few i7 boxes under his wing now and that should generate some monster results!

I've already got an i5 750 @3.8GHz. Won't be getting an i7 anytime soon.
It's not folding, but if this bigadv is as good as you say....would the i5 be able to take advantage?

EDIT: Seems no correct? Only 4 cores and no HT on the i5's...boo

What is this new system (a link to the build, if available, is fine), and why haven't I seen anything about it (OK, the latter question is more plausibly because I don't check the forums often enough)? I'm about to upgrade the CPU HSF on my so far somewhat underwhelming i7, and got what looks like a decent deal (~$40 incl. shipping) at svc.com for a Cogage "True Spirit" HSF that will hopefully both fit and lower the temps on the CPU. If it doesn't fit, and it'll be close, I may have to do something to the side panel on the case.

It would apear that no i5 has 8 threads available, so it can't run -bigadv WU's. But with 4 cores available, it should be able to get very good results folding even so. I get over 6500 PPD on most WU's with my C2Q 8300 at ~3.08 GHz.

Yep. That's what notfred's folding ISO is all about, as well as the VM's he's got. And BTW, the C2Q I have is an 8400, not 8300, and it's down to 3048 MHz. Whoops. I should clean its case and heatsinks some time.

I only mentioned it in passing. I haven't been talking about it more is because of the procrastinations and other things, the system is still not in "production mode". I couldn't resist during Thanksgiving and pulled the trigger on the Intel 120GB G2 but I still have to put it in. I guess I will talk more once I have it really up and running.

So only before the weekend I decided to try FAH GPU Tracker and said "screw it, let me try the -bigadv!", together with the GT 240. So I'm running at -smp 7 for now to make room for the GT240.

I forget how youse guys worked it out, 8) but I think those who originated the UGN team have control over the passkey, and you have to get it from them and add it to your configuration before you'll get bonus points for the SMP WU's. But maybe you've already gotten it.
