i've gained 1,072 places(which puts me at #1 for both Places Gained Today and Week) since i started folding on the 31st :-) Since then I've also broken into the Top 80 in 24Hr Avg, Top 40 Points Update, Top 25 Points Today, Top 30 Points this Week.

Currently, my 8800GTS is putting out ~6,000PPD and my E8400 Core2Duo(2 consoles) is producing ~2,000PPD. Unfortunatly, something is wrong with my internet where every hour it shuts off and i have to reset my router. so if i'm not here, and i have WUs that finish, they won't update until i get back and reset the router. It's got something to do with my ISP or modem because when i plug directly into the modem, it does the same thing...but it re-connects by itself. Add on top of that, I'm in Korea so the technicians that come to my barracks room don't understand English very well and just reset my router and tell me the internet works. Gotta love it...

Hey Montiac! Welcome to Team TR! What happened to your production?! :o Are you a gaming maniac or is your internet still giving you fits? What settings GPU/Shader/Memory do you have on your 8800 GTS? I have mine set at 700/1900/2000 and get a fahmon reported 5800 ppd.

How long is your deployment to Korea? I salute you for serving your country. :D

Just bought a e8400 and radeon HD 4870, not the best folding tools but still getting ready for a major ppd boost, I'm only doing 300 ppd a day right now lol...

Seriously, watch my ppd about a day or two from now, once I finish my new build.

That's awesome. The 4800 cards are now getting some WUs that push 3500-4000 PPD. It's not consistent though, still the normal 2k PPD WUs in the mix.

Had two build problems, one the case is old so it only has one 80 mm fan and bad intake, overheating issues, second the motherboard only has 3 post, I've lost the rest from my case over the years, so I could not get it to work right.

However, I took everything out and did a test run without a case and I got bios with a boot, but I did not plug in the hard drive so that part failed.

Anyways, I'm delayed for a little while getting a case some time today, should get it working in about 12 hours.

Unfortunately for my production to exist, i have to be near my computer at all times. during the weekends, it's not a problem but I had a 24hr duty from 9am-9am friday/saturday, slept all day saturday, and then had my PC unplugged for a massive LAN session in our day-room :-) today(sunday) i had to work so i just got my PC set up. folding has resumed!

my 8800GTS is at 770/1970/1018 and my E8400 is sitting at 3.6GHz. i do love my games and my internet is still retarded. stupid korea telecom. My tour here was originally for 1 year, but i've extended it to 2 so I can work on getting my application to flight school together. I'll be coming home to the states in less than 2 weeks for a month...can't wait! Thank you for your kind words. people like you make all the **** worth it.

Very strange that Korea, where nearly everyone is supposed to have broadband and very fast at that, would have such problems.

My boast: I've gotten at least 7 crappy 430 point WU's on my 2 GPU clients today, and I'm still doing over 10,000 points. Of course, I also lost my X2-3800 box which won't run for more than a few minutes now, and I had some decent WU's on my other SMP clients upload, so I'll be down if I keep getting these lackluster WU's, but that's the future.

Finally got the internet adapter problem fixed, started chugging along with e8400 at stock speeds (At least until I buy a better cooler) with one console client and an HD 4870 systray gpu client. According to Fahmon, I'm at about 4000 ppd for the HD 4870, good start to get the good work units right? And about 600 ppd for the e8400. Almost 5k ppd!

Anyways the real question, I noticed the gpu client is vary nearly maxing out a core? Is this right? I thought gpu clients only used around 10-20 % of a core? Do you think windows SMP is worth it if one core is already being used 40% by the gpu client?

Thanks for the info, watch my ppd two or three days from now!

Oh I also have a two dual core laptops with two instances of console client, but one only gets about 6 hours a day but would be about 600 ppd, and the other is 24/7 but only about 300 ppd a day.

Only in Vista I think, and that's mostly with Nvidia GPUs. You should measure to see if WinSMP is worth it. The -oneunit parameter is very useful. ;)

XP uses a LOT more CPU cycles than Vista.

BUT, XP seems easier to set up multiple GPUs on one machine... So it depends what kind of machine you have as to which OS would be better.

An Athlon X2 running two GPUs would be best just running two GPU2 clients on Windows XP while an Intel Q9450 with one GPU would be better off running two SMP clients and one GPU2 client on Vista.

I sometimes wonder how many points I have generated for team 2630. It's gotta be a couple or three million at least. As part of the collective, I don't really know 8)

Today marks my one year anniversary. I started F@H for TR one year ago today. http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ ... =&u=280116

Of course, most of you here know I now fold predominantly for UGN, but I still have two or three laptops running for my old user ID.

Thanks. My folding efforts right now pretty much consist of the Nvidia GPU client running on 2 8800gts 640's and one 260 GTX. I used to have our PS3 folding, but the wife didn't like the constant fan noise in the living room.

I'm currently pulling about 3.5k ppd, which should go up to 6k+ once the GPU2 client becomes more fair towards ATI, and the SMP client is properly released on windows. Also, I'm setting up my mothers work computers, and my dads new home computer (which he will buy at Christmas). So if all bodes well I might just hit 10k ppd.

Broke 1million points a couple of days or a week or so ago.

Did about 700k of that in 1.9~ years on one computer (E6600 at various modes of overclocking) with the SMP client when it was available and with dual single core clients before that. Then I did 300k in about 2 months peaking at 10k/ppd with a 8800GTS 320MB, a 8800GT 512mB, and 2 SMP clients with a Q9300.

Now it is time to retire the Mark` handle and put my points towards TRFrankenbot in the immediate future and, later, towards UnitedGerbilNation. At least, until I want to break 2 million points :P
