Wowzer Idchafee!! :o Thanks for dontating the 2 boxes to UGN and giving me cause to salivate about possible future contributions. :D

Here's hoping you find "The Love" you seek at UGN.

idchafee wrote:That's one of the reasons I'm comptemplating this move. If it weren't for the fact that I believe in the work being done, I'd have quit by now. I have to jump through a bunch of hoops every few months to make sure that all the higher ups at work are OK with me folding on these boxes (and the approval is usually given very grudgingly), and I really have lost any desire to climb the rankings. I don't even really care that Ahab will eventually pass me. :o :o So if I'm not concerned about my own standing, why not give UGN a boost. A UGN with 6000-7000 ppd might attract more interest from prospective new folders than a UGN with 3500-4000 ppd.

hmm, you're the 88th ranked folder in the world in still climbing . . .

i also believe if you moved everything over to UGN, your overall production would drop way off, not being able to see what you were actually producing.

...it's a tough call... On one hand I agree that UGN producing 7,000 PPD with idchafee's help would make things more interesting... They'd be competing with myself at that point and I could have some fun with that... And use it to attract some attention... They'd also be potentially more attractive to people looking to join up... The goal of growing UGN is for them to snowball into a massive unstoppable force...

On the other hand, I would miss seeing idchafee's personal contribution, and I'm not sure I want to start the business of power folders jumping their own ship... idchafee is a pillar of the team and I'd hate for him to lose his identity...

I'd still respect you if you joined though, I know I'm WAY too selfish to send any of my points elsewhere... :)

Well, I'm not decided yet and its not a decision that I'd make lightly. However, it is something I've been thinking about ever since LFK mentioned he might join UGN. And I may wait for that inevitable day that Ahab gets his whale.

tack me onto that list, I should have a few processors on there in no time, right now I have one athlon xp 2600 24/7 and a xp 2500 running at like 60% work load unstable close to 24/7.

My P4 2.0A needs a reformat and then Ill get the networking working again and Ill add that, Ill set up my A64 3400 2.4Ghz on there too, those together should boost the UGN a few hundred PPD. Should help a bit.

I've been folding with my A64 3000 for a while under UGN now. Just couldn't see the point in folding under my own username with one measly box.

I think my PC is already on the Terahertz list. Regardless it isn't new, so I won't be adding it.

A couple days ago I noticed I was the only person left folding for dont_ya_mean_type. I guess that joke has died. So I'm switching to UGN.

UGN may be seeing a fairly large addition here shortly, depending on how un-lazy I become.
