Yeah, it turned out that Cyril had meant to put it there last week but had a bunch of other stuff to do and it was put off until yesterday when the other work let up.

So has anyone out there actually put this info to use on their computers?

I just found this deal on Newegg. Is this worth buying for a folding setup?

If you're not folding with your idle computer time you're not part of the solution.

It will give you 500-700 ppd using the GPU client with a single core processor.

I have one question:
given the fact that i'm building a pc for folding i read many articles, and it seems that the best would a graphica card like nvdia or ati, but then i read an article where they said that under the gpu it is possible to do only very simple wu units, and for that reason they need also the power of the pc for complex wu unit.

can some one give me more explanation? thanks i'm confused.

It isn't that tricky, really.

GPU does do simple projects. However, it does them very fast. I'm running a 9600GT and I finished units in <30 minutes. F@H says I'm getting 3600 ppd. However, GPU2 (the client for graphics cards) needs to utilize your cpu to fold. If you have a mult-core processor, you'll be fine. It will send it to a particular core. But, to do anything with an Nvidia gpu, I have to pause folding.

I am still pretty clueless about F@H but I have been pondering about building a good PPD/Watt machine myself. 8) My current setup is:

Turion MT-37 (S754, 2.0ghz) on a MSI K8MM3-V
Radeon HD 3850 AGP
Seasonic S12 330W
2 GB RAM

~80W idle (cool'n'quiet enabled, 1.05V CPU, 0% CPU and GPU) and ~160W load (1.35V to 1.40V CPU, 100% CPU and 99% GPU). There isn't much tweaking I can do via BIOS but if I limit GPU client to use less 100% of CPU then GPU usage drops to 60% or idles often with occasional peak to 99% as opposed to almost constantly at 99% (according to Catalyst Overdrive panel).

For the past week or so, stats show I am getting around 1400 to 2200 PPD (~1500 PPD avg?).
