Cum'on Fox!! The Gerbil Nation are our friends!!!

TRFrankenbot is my Bud though...

Screw the electric bill!! I'll fire up the HTPC for the last week too (4800 X2 @ 2.6)... That should push me close to 2500 ppd...

It would be cool if we could get Franky in the top 15!

7500ppd and 10,301 points yesterday :o
Holy crap guys. Keep it coming!
Currently sitting in 8th place ppd, but if we keep up the current rate, that's very close to #2 behind segfault.

I think all of my WUs may not be showing up for TRFrank

I turned in an SMP WU for 1760 points at around 8:30PM CDT, but in the 9PM update it only shows 1 WU for like 1100 points, either thats not my WU or if it is the points are wrong

heres the one it grabbed right after

I think all of my WUs may not be showing up for TRFrank

I turned in an SMP WU for 1760 points at around 8:30PM CDT, but in the 9PM update it only shows 1 WU for like 1100 points, either thats not my WU or if it is the points are wrong
Looks like your WUs got credited at the 12am update. Remember the times may be west coast. So give it time and man your points pushed Frankie up to 7.7k! Watch out m^3.

Like I said, I'm not real familiar with FAH, but something seems a little strange with my SMP client...

My first 2 WU's finished in about 35 hrs each (@ appx 1280ppd). When I got home from work tonight FAHMon showed a yellow box and my PPD had dropped to 1009.... Although it did still seem to be working!

I shut down the client and restarted it (fortunately it saved my 27% ).

FAHMon now has me back at 1285 PPD, but the box is still Yellow. I checked the LOG file and this is what I got:

Any Suggestions? Still doesn't look right to me, although both cores are running at 100%

Any Suggestions? Still doesn't look right to me, although both cores are running at 100%

The yellow box just means fahmon cant accurately calculate ppd mainly because you have only worked a few frames, it will do that each time you get a new WU. But after you get past a certain point it will have a better estimation of how long the WU is going to take your machine and should turn green again

This is the line that gave me some concern:

[25/10/07 - 00:06:06] Daveburt has an unknown state (Unable to find a complete frame)

Plus the fact that I was at 27% completion and it was still yellow....
Maybe I'm just being paranoid

Task Manager show 100% on both cores, so something is going on!
Thanks Chris!

well, even if you were at 27% but you restarted the computer, it will recalculate just as if it were a new WU until it establishes how long it takes to fold x number of frames, but it should go back to green soon

You could have shut the computer down to install a QX6800 but fahmon would have no way of knowing until it sees how long the frames are taking ;)

Truncation of text is normal. Everything in your log look a-ok as long as it's still actually folding.

Thanks Folks... Just making sure Franky gets credit for my work!

You would think some programmer would donate some time to make this software a little more user friendly!! I can understand a log file being detailed, but thats just down right confusing!!

I run SETI@Home on occasion, and it is VERY intuitive.... Someone should design a decent front end for FAH!! I should start programming again... I knew Basic pretty well 15 years ago, it's like riding a bike right? 8)

Or.... maybe I should just have another beer and go to bed........ :-?

Chris, your cool and pretty knowledgable.... But that Woot Link is pretty
close to spam!! Most folks don't like that around here, just a suggestion!

Anyway, I'm gonna fire up the HTPC to fold until Halloween... It's cool to see USA's bugeyed Icon!!

I bet we could hit 15k ppd, if we could just get a few more SMP clients!!

You could run the v6.0 client with the -smp flag for it to fold in SMP.

Didn't read the FAQ? They have not merged the SMP and single core clients for the Windows version yet. If you want to run SMP Windows the updated 5.91 beta client is available.

I have one more e6300 to start submitting... tonight or tomorrow, one more 3600x2 to add, and 13 more single core diskless to fire up. TRF will be #2 for a short time anyhow. ... smell the fish.

honestly, how much are you spending on power for those farms?

Its one thing to have some company footing the bill for all their user machines to fold but to be paying for it yourself... I can barely afford to keep my Q6600 and a few single cores going

When I have all 30 or so diskless nodes going and the three home pcs it adds about $200/month to the power bill, Thats the reason my interest comes and goes. Its pretty easy to figure... each folding node consumes roughly 100w.

100wx33= 3300 watts. 3300x 24 hours x 30 days = 2,376,000watt-hours 2,376kwh x .09$/kwh = $213.84.

I try to keep from 3-10 pcs going all the time, and when I have some time and money I get everything running. The money is not the big deal, it is the time for maintaining the beast and making sure everything is ok. Thats why I am ordering 2 more x2 rigs tonight.. they use less power and will replace several old axps. I could move everything here at work and reap prepaid power, but its no hard on equipment here it doesn't work out. The power at home typically goes off at least once/month and restarting from that takes some time, although with notfred's help that should be less an issue now.

My next project is two windmills (11ft or more) and a battery bank.
