That's one of the side effects of joining a collective, you kind of lose some individuality. Some people don't like it, but some people love big numbers and just want to be part of it. If you join UnitedGerbilNation (no spaces) and make sure you are in team 2630, you will have to track your own contributions by running "farm monitoring" software like FahMon or FahSpy.

I've been thinking about it, but I could get another 8800GTS for 129... It would only be used for folding.

I have a P35 board, though, so it'd be nice to have the 9800GX2 to play games... BUT, I had a 7950GX2 so I know what it's like to play without the latest drivers. The Crysis beta would only run on one GPU. That stunk!

And what if ATI gets the GPU2 client running on all 800 shaders?

Jig, you'll know firsthand in about four months.

David, I was pretty tempted too but then remembered my dissatisfaction with my Crossfire setup from not too long ago. Granted things are better these days but I still have a bad taste in my mouth in regards to multi-gpu gaming, you know what I mean? Plus, I'd have to get a new psu if I want to plug the GX2 in.

I think you are right, it is not the right time to go with the multi gpu setup right now. Hope DX-11 changes this..

You think this might help?

Ingredients:

2 cups cornmeal
2 1/2 cups flour
3 tablespoons honey
1/4 cup sunflower butter (or peanut butter)
1 1/2 cup water (more if needed)
2 tablespoons butter
dash of salt
As many Gerbils as you can fit

That might add some motivation for me to pedal a little faster.

If it involves pumping up the points for UGN then I welcome it.. since that should give me some more time to catch up to Fuzz. The SMP clients are killing me! The Win SMP keeps needing reinstalls on a regular basis and the Linux SMP is slowing to hours between steps! Geez, why can't they just 'work' like the GPU2 client?
