I can't mathematically get more than 4000 points tomorrow.
Hey girl you want a bad boy? I overclock my backup servers.

Understood. In that case, we're ecstatic to have you as part of the collective mighty UGN :P

I know your stay is temporary, and not complete since you'll still have your PS3 dedicated to your ID, but I hope you enjoy the camaraderie and perhaps we'll even get you to like us enough to stay :P

It really is better on the north side of fuzzface and flightywires :D

Are we OK to switch over to UGN now, or are we still racing for the next day?

My main box is on UGN now, my server is 80% on a WU, and I'll change it after it resolves, and my laptops are off so they're not really doing anything.

Anyway, whatever you want to do to contribute. The nation appreciates all input.

Come Halloween we may all switch to Frankie though.

When we switch to Frankie, perhaps we can set a goal to outpace Segfault for that month. With FnF I'd think we'd do it no problem. It would be cool if we got Seggie's attention to the point he would post something in the forum.

Segfault, WHERE ARE YOU???

Segmentation fault
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Segmentation violation)
Jump to: navigation, search

A segmentation fault (often shortened to segfault) is a particular error condition that can occur during the operation of computer software. A segmentation fault occurs when a program attempts to access a memory location that it is not allowed to access, or attempts to access a memory location in a way that is not allowed (for example, attempting to write to a read-only location, or to overwrite part of the operating system). Systems based on processors like the Motorola 68000 tend to refer to these events as address or bus errors.

Segmentation is one approach to memory management and protection in the operating system. It has been superseded by paging for most purposes, but much of the terminology of segmentation is still used, "segmentation fault" being an example. Some operating systems still have segmentation at some logical level although paging is used as the main memory management policy.

On Unix-like operating systems, a process that accesses invalid memory receives the SIGSEGV signal. On Microsoft Windows, a process that accesses invalid memory receives the STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION exception.
