I wonder how long it will take to catch you if I start now? (I don't fold)

You probably wouldn't given that his ATI video cards would boost his PPD considerably.

Actually, I don't believe those cards give him anything in that department.

None of the boxes are dual-core, and his machines would at best be able to run GPU1, as those cards aren't up to GPU2. I know the 3800 is probably worth about 1000ppd, im sure that he could outpace him

My X2 @2.4GHz only does about 770ppd max, but they should still be plenty unless pickle is always able to fish those DBGromacs with all his machines.

Wow, I have no idea what most of you just said. :D

Also, I didn't think my ATI cards would help in any regard. I thought they had to be X1900's or above, these are only R300 and R400 variants...? Maybe I'm wrong. I'd be delighted if I was. I have some other machines, but I use those on a daily basis... I guess I could put F@H on my main machines as well. That'd probably mark up performance a good amount (I have two Core-based notebooks, one with a Mobility X1900, and a Core-based desktop with an HD 3450 soon-ish).

I've been reluctant to include my main machines in the great fold war because I don't know if I trust F@H's processor usage throttler during idle or active use. Do you guys notice any serious lag in games and/or general use by letting F@H run on your mains while you use them? Eh?

I haven't folded in a while (reinstalled Windows and have been waiting for a service-style SMP client), but back when I did:
the single-threaded client was seamless in everything except (very oddly) Far Cry on my A64 3200+. It introduced some lag into that. I didn't have any troubles running single-threaded clients (1 or 2 at a time) once I moved to my Opty 165. The SMP client put a bit of a hit on my games -- but I suspect that had more to do with the ram usage (~70 megs of a gig running FEAR and up, which really like memory) than processor time.

OK, I can see it being the first line of A joke, but I challenge your to make it the first line of a GOOD joke.

BTW- I dropped a pickle in the foyer ealier this evening, and it didn't move at all. Not one iota. Not to the threshold. Not to the stairs. It didn't even try to make an escape through the vent. Nothing. So I'm skeptical of the whole premise from the get go.
