Whats best for my new CPU?

Well for my HTPC, the CPU is a 4850e, 2.5Ghz. I have the standard client installed, but seems slow. Is there anything faster I can use? Sorry if this has been answered, I really know nothing at Folding and would like to help TR.

Why exactly would you use an HTPC for such a thing?
I'm not here to hammer on folding again, but this really does boggle the mind.

Too help out TR.It just sits d/l movies from Itunes (dang HD on DSL) Plus it's all low power, so doesn't cost much too run.

When you are upgrading hardware specifically for F@H then you have to reevaluate your reasoning.

He got the stuff for his HTPC purpose. He figures he may as well run the Folding client to help TR out. From what I have read Folding is not the primary purpose of the machine. You guys need to chill.

Going back on topic. What do you mean by "slow"? Usually 20-40 minutes for one percent is not unheard of (some WUs may take even longer). By standard client I take it you mean the single core one? For more points (assuming they mean more to the science as well), you should try running the SMP client, but that is not completely a smooth experience. Also keep in mind that at 100% CPU, it is going to make a difference in the power bill. Make sure you pass this by whoever pays the bill. Do you have a decent GPU in there? They generally give you more points.
