HD5750 Folding with XP PRO Not Supported?

Thu Jan 20, 2011 9:46 pm

I have to leave XP PRO on one of my workstations. While it's waiting to be sold I would like to fold with it. I downloaded the GPU Client after installing the most current ATI Driver and the GPU CLient gives an error that the graphics card is not supported and I need the most current driver?

Is folding with HD5000 doomed to vista or 7 only?

I don't think this is an XP issue; I think it is a Pande-hasn't-updated-the-ATI-client-in-years issue. Here's what I've been able to find:

http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/20 ... 4870!.aspx

In a nutshell, try making the ATI card the primary display (if it isn't already), and try launching the client with the -forcegpu ati_r700 switch.

If that doesn't help I'm out of ideas, as I've never tried folding with a HD5xxx GPU.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
