I have the passkey for Frankie if anyone needs it. Shoot me a PM or post here and I'll get it to you as quickly as I can.

I'll take a look and see how things go. Maybe I'll give Frankie some help for a month.

I've been away from folding for awhile due to mining btc but shoot me the passkey and I will churn some units using my HD 6950.

Got my HD6950 up and folding for frankenbot. Not sure how well it performs using the new beta client. I guess Nvidia folders might still have the upper-hand for now.

I just threw an i7 860 onto the pile.

We should shoot for 1 million points this time. 224,070 already!

Just a FYI. You do not need the passkey for GPU's.
Only for SMP.

We did 800k last year. I think we can make a million.
I only turned on the boxes that were off for the summer.
I will make Frank more scary later in the month!

We need more participation please!

I'm too lazy to reconfigure my SMP client for a dual-xeon server. Do X5650 dual-xeons still give good points?

Are you kidding? 24 threads folding @2.66 GHz with
-smp 24 -bigadv
among the command line parameters? It can likely produce in excess of 40,000 points per day, maybe above 50,000, though it depends on the Work Unit and how well the code takes advantage of all the available threads.

They have made things so much easier with the v7 client.

kitsura if you put your box on I will put on an i970 @4.2gHz on Frank!
The box does 49K ppd +change.
That would make Frank SCARY!

DancinJack I think I will wait on v7. It looks like they are still fixing a lot
of bugs.

Looks like we are getting bursts of >100K every 2-3 days. We are already at 960K points for this month. The 1million target is becoming a joke now.

How about upping the ante to 2.5-3 million points (based on the fact that we are on track to do 1M at the end of the 15th, 2M would be too easy)? That would be a fun challenge?

I saw the first screenshots of v7 and have not been a fan since. Do they still keep the no nonsense command line version? I like that just fine. In fact when I switched my server to Frankie, I just stopped my WinSMP service, ran -configonly, restarted the service, and I was on my way. The longest part was actually copy and pasting Frankie's key from Dancin's PM to the Command Prompt window! :P

I put an i7 bigadv on last weekend. That is the pop you see.
I might put another one on this weekend.
Stay tuned!

I enabled bigadv before but my 875K seemed to have received WUs that it cannot quite handle. Took 4+ days and according to FAH GPU Tracker I only got 2200ppd for that effort. So I turned off bigadv with regular SMP WUs and are now getting consistent ~8000ppd WUs. :-? Do you really need the 2600K to make these bigadv WUs worthwhile nowadays, at least for WinSMP?

Hey Fuzzhead, so what target should we shoot for, 2.5M or 3M points (or more?) for the month?

You need 8 cores. They can be 4 + hypertheads. 2600k or any i9xx on an x58
motherboard. Depends on the overclock. Any i920 and up you should be able to
overclock to 4.0 easily with a good motherboard. Mine are all i9xx.

Lets go for 3m! I have more power that I can put on if we need it.

Just looking at the stats, I think Frank will have a Huge day tomorrow!
Frank may make the top twenty this month.

Re-read my post, I have an 875K, also 8 threads. ;) For some reason I keep getting those really big 10K+ base point WUs but it took forever to finish, dragging down my ppd. Or it can be FAH GPU Tracker calculating it wrong.

Frankie just got into top 2 producer of TR just behind you!

Dual Xeon is up and running. Frankie is going to get scarier!

We're at ~1.3M right now. If we can add a few more bigadv people we should be able to get 3M fairly easily.

by just brew it!
I will be doing a burn-in test of a new Phenom II X6 later this week. Might as well throw it into the Frankenbot pool for the duration!

I tried enabling -bigadv again, got a P6900 WU worth 7164 points but it will take the full 4 days (plus an hour or 2) so no bonus, netting me "only" 1719ppd compared to regular SMP WUs where I will be in the 8000ppd range (confirmed with HFM.net as well). For the sake of science of course I am not going to delete the unit, but my CPU will be tied up for 4 days. :-? My 875K should be no slouch how come it seems so slow with -bigadv?

I'm interested in helping out the Frankie initiative, can I get the passkey? Many thanks!

Not sure way it is taken you 4 days on a 6900. My 930 at 4.2 gHz
does one in two days. It is 4 cores plus 4 hyperthreads. I don't have 875k
so I have no experiance with one.

kitsura
Thank you Sir!
I just added two more i7s for aprox. 100k ppd to Frank.

The major difference I can think of immediately is the extra memory channel, but I don't think it makes such a big difference. I am at stock 2.93GHz though.

3M points and top TR producer (don't give up your own production much though) for the month? Is that scary enough?

Looks like another big day for Frank on Friday. I have about 250k qued
up for tomorrow. I do not see any reason we won't hit 3 Million.

To stay up there and be the top TR producer for the entire week may be a bit more difficult. ;)

But we are doing good, Frankie's never been scarier!
