Not sure what is happening on the Linux side, but back when I have my AMD CPUs (still 1 system running), it is working. In between WUs the CPU will clock down for like 30seconds and once a new WU is started it cranks back up again. The fan also calmed down a bit. It was my signal that a WU had been sent.
Same with my current system.
GPU folding may be a different story, since the CPU is not 100% and AFAIK the OS is basing off CPU usage.
