How to print on network with windows and mac os?

Fri Apr 09, 2010 8:09 pm

I want to be able to print from one place
the issue is I will be running Windows 7 and Mac Os 10.6
so that means I cannot create a home network via windows 7, correct?

I have an old old printer that is USB only Canon S9000
someone said in another post that I could get an USB to Ethernet adapter, but I could not find any for sale with a female end to plug into the printer?
I don't mind buying a new router, do they make ones you can plug a usb printer into directly?

Can you plug the printer to the Windows box and share it via Windows networking? The Mac OS box should see it with SMB.
The Model M is not for the faint of heart. You either like them or hate them.

That depends on if the scanner has network scanning capabilities. Usually that requires software to be installed to initiate the scanning and it would have to be OSX compatible.
