Just started my collection:

Body
Canon 7D

Lenses
17-40L f/4
50mm f/1.4
70-300mm IS f/4-5.6

Flash
430EXII

Tripod
Manfrotto 190XB

The 17-40L is most useful at parties and for general walking around due to its wide angle. The 50mm is just fun to use, probably my favorite lens overall. The focal length is a bit long for the kind of shooting I'm used to, but the wide aperture allows much room for creativity. The 70-300mm is a new acquisition. I've used it extensively on other Canon bodies, but not the 7D. It's going to take some time to get used to with my new equipment.

Lately I've been using the 50mm more than anything since it's so much fun, and because I'm taking portraits for the yearbook at the school where I teach. I guess that qualifies my work as semi-pro, but photography is primarily a hobby for me. I chose my camera setup because I like Canon cameras from a technical standpoint, and have been using them for many years.

Was feeling bored, so I decided to look at my LR stats for my camera/lens usage and plug them into Excel, and work out what percentage of my gear I'm using for my shots.

Body: GF1, ownership ~ 4 months.
Total number of pictures: 5200

20/1.7: 1904 shots, 36.6%

PL45/2.8: 2064 shots, 39.7%

7-14/4: 537 shots, 10.3%

SMC-Tak 50/1.4: 695 shots, 13.4%

A bit surprised that my most expensive lens (the 7-14) gets the least use, but I guess it's not that often I take an ultra wide shot, so in retrospect it should come as no surprise.

Seems I use the PL45 the most, despite only having it for a month or less. It really is a versatile lens - portrait, short tele, macro, video (video not represented in the stats).

Lo, for another Pentax user doth appear!

Just did a quick post count and it looks like we are now at a user count of:

Nikon: 8
Canon: 7
Pentax: 3
Panasonic: 2
Sony: 2

...which includes one user running both a Nikon dSLR and a Panasonic P&S.

No input from current Konika-Minolta or Leica users, yet...

50mm f1.8
135mm f2.8
80-200mm f3.5

Random off brand flash, lots of black and white film (I have a film roller)

For Digital
Canon 5D
Canon 30D with BG-E3
50mm f1.8
17-40mm f4 L
70-200 f4 L

Other stuff
3x1GB, 1x2GB, 2x4GB and 1x8GB CF cards
7xBP511A
Tripod- Dolcia 62" ProLine with ball head and carrying case
Opteka wired shutter release
Lower Pro Flipside 300

I'm still working on building my digital collection. I still need a flash and i'll probably pick up the 50 f1.4 soon. As I am still a student I've yet to get any really return on investment and I can still check out more expensive toys from the shared stock.
