Re: How everyone did - football

It has been a good year for me. Made the playoffs in all my TR leagues, including the Keepers, where I intend to walk away with the trophy this year. I have climbed the ranks from 6th to 3rd, and this shall be my year.

In other news, the OMGWTFBBQ League was ridiculously close this year as well. It also saw the first tie I have ever seen with decimal scoring. I was shocked. Now I just have to beat my wife to move on in those playoffs. =)

Huh? Other than Megatron, I didn't think the Lions had anyone you could call a good player.

Kevin Smith....

My point was more along the lines that players in Detroit that seem so good turn to crap when they get there.. and then are much better once they leave :)

And congrats... that was quite a blowout in the Freeks game.. :( My roster should have performed better, but yours was phenomenal...

A middle-round pick who's never rushed for more than 1000 yards nor averaged over 4.1 a carry in a season? The guy had one OK season on a terrible team.

Roy Williams sure turned it around in Dallas, didn't h...oh wait, he didn't.

Honestly, the current Lions just suck.

Thanks for the congrats. If only my keeper team would have been in the playoffs and I'd have started the right lineup. I'd have had over 70 points just from RBs.

Out of the 8 leagues I was in, I'm playing for the title in three, and for third place in two more.
Playing for the title in the (fake) keeper league 1, and the Significant Others league, and my money work league 8)

I told my wife she should sit Matt Forte and play Snelling in the BBQ league two weeks ago - and this cost me a 4th place spot :-( But I helped her move on. In another league I was pissed off to find that everyone made the playoffs (STUPID CONCEPT) and I was first place, at 11-2-1 and had to play last place at 2-12, of course I lost. Then there's the PPR public league I was in. I listened to the Yahoo! fantasy dudes that said put that A. Foster guy in - and I sat Fred Jackson, yep that killed me. PPR (1/2 point per catch) is fun BTW.

So what are the final standings for all the leagues? It seems like there weren't a lot of really good/really bad teams this year.

Playoffs for me in the Keeper league, that makes 3 years in a row. Gone from 4th (league champion), to 2nd (lost championship game), to 1st. Who's your daddy?

Grumble grumble...playing for third in the keepers...AGAIN.... :x I thought my team was pretty good too, like the last couple years.
This remains the league I still want to win the most.

Speaking of how the other leagues are doing, I talked to idchafee today, and as soon as he has room in his inbox, he will have recaps for the BBQ and the real Keepers, for weeks 8 through 15. I figured that if everyone likes them so, then I should use my free time and do them up.

My team needs 3 points from Percy Harvin tonight to defeat Mattsteg for the championship.

Against the Bears D you should get that pretty easy, even with Favre's latest slump (aside: the man just can't play 16 games a year anymore; he doesn't have it in him).
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

Ironically, I was in the same boat. It took about 58 minutes of play, but we got it (40 yards receiving for Harvin).

I had a real blast. First time ever in the playoffs . . . . and totally surprised that I even made it to the end in 3rd place and into the finals!!! :o

I'll probably be in my regular place next year - LAST!!!

MaceMan won the Superbowl in TR>All against me 116.54-89.54. It was fun, I'll be happy to sign up again next year.

So did I, especially as I made it into the consolation playoffs and got 5th in my league. Not too shabby for someone who's enjoying the glorious sunshine Down Under.

Sweet! Three cheers for roling 20's!

FYI, I don't see working links for week 16 in the BBQ and keeper leagues.

edit: that's cuz he only did them to week 15, stiffie had a typo above.

I only ended up winning the Gold trophy in one league this year, after making the title game in four of eight leagues.
At least it was the money league 8)

Looking forward to next year, as always, until then I still have three hockey leagues to manage!

I can't do any worse, that's for sure.

Gonna have to make a big decision on Ben Choco Taco.

Here's a very early TOP 200 fantasy picks list:
http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/footb ... anks100511

Looks like Big Ben is down to QB16 now in the rankings, not surprised.
I have to decide if I want to keep Philip Rivers (QB6) or not... depends.

Looking forward to next year big time!

Tough to keep someone in the top 10 (Ben) when they're only playing 3/4 of the season.

Then there are some that think Ray Rice and MJD belong up there at the very top too.
I'm thinking you really can't go wrong with the first four picks one way or another.

Jay Cutler - he's gotta improve this year after last year's horror, especially with Mike Martz now?

I hope that'd be the case, but you can never tell. Only thing I know for sure is that I'm looking forward to some FF this year.
