Just thought I'd offer up some AMD X6 overclocking results for you folks...

I couldn't afford an unlocked 1090T and a new Mobo, so I settled and went with a locked 1055.
I'm still having trouble with high HTRef clocks (>300), but all in all this is still a pretty sweet chip for $200...

GEAR:
Mobo: Asus Crosshair IV Formula
Chip: AMD 1055T (1012 APMW)
Mem: Mushkin 1600 7-8-7-24-31 (low voltage kit (1.35))

This is after a few weeks of tweaking. I'm not done, and theres probably a little more in it, but I thought I'd share...

What are the temps like under load?

That was a pretty serious push StuG, but I've been working on it again tonight...

Here's a SS that was more than an hour PrimeBlend stable, with temps.



Blend pushes things REALLY hard, I doubt this would fail under everyday use...
I'm looking for a new 24/7...

I think it should be for the most part, stable. Try IBT/LinX and see how high the temps can go? Even for AMD CPUs I get higher temps (than Prime95).

Haha, I looked at the temps at first and was rather surprised to see them at 51 C. I would imagine (through my own experience) Intel Burn Test will probably get you to 55C. Even then though I was still curious how your temps were so low...than I saw the RPM's your CPU fan runs at. 4549 RPM! That thing must sound like a banshee from hell! Mine goes up to 1600RPM and I still think its a tad too loud, and that is built around being silent!

Too bad you don't have a Core i7 that you could OC like crazy and compare against this.

Nice job on the overclocking. I am curious how much power your pulling from the wall at 1.524 volts compared to stock voltages. I think you should start using that beast of a machine to fold. You will be pulling 13-15k ppd easy. (Got to put a plug in for team 2630)

Hopefully this week I will be able to see what the max OC I am able to get with the 1055T. Right now I have it folding 24/7 @3.626 at stock voltages for the last two weeks. Temps are not even hitting 34 degrees under folding and hit a peak at 39 with the intel burn test. Almost positive I can get it over 4ghz because my max FSB is 297 stable. Just need some time to test it out and I will post results here once I get them.

The machine isn't really noisy at all. That 4500 RPM is not a fan, it's a Swiftech MCR350 pump (DDC)...

Flying Fox: I've ran IntelBurnTest (Linx), IIRC it only loads a couple C higher (~53c) than extended Prime Blend runs.

Donuts: Sorry man, I don't have a KillaWatt to measure the draw from the wall but I'd guess I'm around 350W load
with 2 videocards, pumps, fans etc...

What do you have your IMC (CPU/NB) set at?
They seem to be stronger on Thubans and would probably give you a nice little bump for folding.
