Depending on how much fun I can make this weekend, how badly broken my HTPC is, if I can borrow a 200mm lens, and how skilled my wife is with a DSLR on a boat moving at 22mph, I might enter with a wild pic.

There are SO many new people in that thread. Sometime we should have a contest in which you actually are a contributor to TR before you can enter. Say 100 posts or something?

Weeeell, I've been lurking enthusiastically for years. That doesn't quite count as "contributing," but even real contributors need an audience. :)

I haven't seen anything in this contest to beat Leor's hardware shots from a few years back.

No, just the card. We're trying to have as many people win as we can.

I am liking RA1D's pictures. I know nothing about the technical aspects, but they look pretty.
Winrahr also has some nice pics.
There is a lot of new folks that have nice pics though, I just hope if a new account wins that they hang around. Contest only members winning makes me grumble.

I hope that success in this contest is not hinged on how expensive of photography equipment you have. For me, I can only do so many things with a 3MP cell phone camera. heh
For with what measure you measure it will be measured to you.

Haha, but if you are comparing a shovel and a rake to a harvesting machine, I guess there is plenty of reason for a farmer to blame their tools >.<

Do like the snapshot of the PC with the Quantum Bigfoot. (viewtopic.php?f=37&t=72967#p1031603) Been ages since I saw one of those.

Can we use console hardware, or is it strictly PC hardware?

There are some really nice pics in here. The most clever is the LEGO input devices by timon37 -- not on the basis of great photography, but on the basis of original hardware. Does all that stuff really work? It's amazingly cool (this coming from a guy who affixed LEGO boards to the inside of his car).

defer on page 1 has some nice shots. LFK's shot on page 2 is... well, awesome, even if it's just cars. sschaem's photos on page 3 are captivating. thatmushroom on page 4 is great.

Finally, although he probably won't win, leor has best shots of all :)
