I really liked Ludi's winning shot and the "tower of CPU" shot; it was at least more interesting than the other "bare CPU" shots of... just a CPU.

Maybe not the most creative but at least artistic. I thought the winning photo was creative but sepia irks me.

Don't worry about it. Adam/Inkling's day job is keeping the ad money flowing into TR. He will get back to you, even if it takes a few days. Bank on it.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

Good to know! Excited. At least I finally got SC2 to keep me busy (stupid Dell).

One submission by SUSHRUKH on page two is definitely isn't one of 'his customers' as the picture is of one of my old systems. Glad he wasn't a winner with a bunch of stolen pictures.

Quite. Looking deeper at the images it seems all his submissions are likely stolen. Which image is yours?

Although the judging is over, I'm reporting him to the mods just in case.

There was a request for uncropped full-color originals of my winning shot for use as desktop wallpaper or whatever. I posted a Picassa webalbum with some shots, see page 73 of the General Photography Thread.

Don't worry, I haven't gotten a reply yet, either. We'll be running through the post-apocalyptic Moscow subways soon enough :)

This one. At least he was smart enough not to just hotlink it directly from my photobucket account.

If we submitted an image for this contest, does that mean the image is now TR property, or is it still our property with which we can do what we want?

I know I'd like to put mine on deviant art if it's still mine. That is if they ever clear up this vague dns issue that makes it never load for me.... which btw is a very understated internet issue in general that seems to plague more people than is recognized /end mini-rant

On a side note I can only max this game on my 470 at 1024. I knew it was brutal but damn.

Nah, they're your pictures. We don't want to own them, and nothing in the rules said we would. Do what you want with them.

Ouch. I haven't even bothered to install it yet; I think my old 7800GT would give croak if I ever threw a game like this at it.

I have completed the game already, I had it at 1280x1024 on my 9800GT and it was very very fluid although my card wont use the dx 11 enhancements :s

All hail the Tech Report!

The card arrived earlier this week. Work has been crazy the past few days but I did finally get it unpacked, installed and running. This card is noticeably cooler-running and a LOT quieter than my old 8800GT, both of which are welcome changes. In the spirit of the contest, here are the pics:

Amazingly enough, that's a 4-year-old DFI LanParty UT NF4 motherboard and it's still running great with an Opteron 180 under a SonicTower heatsink.

Also, just to be thoroughly annoying, here's one more:

Thanks TR (and MSI for sponsoring!) 8)
