Whew! It took some shuffling, but I finally have the right posts in the right thread. So, jump right in and let us know how YOU are helping to make Frankie Scary this year.

Tonight I will switch my single core "heaters" to the effort and for the week of Halloween I will switch my GPU machine. Plus anything I add between now and 31 October will fold for Frankie until The Witches Sabbath.

Flying Fox sent a PM reminding us that TRFrankenbot will need a Passkey if anyone wants to contribute SMP bonus points to the effort. If no one has an objection and if no one has already created one, I will create a TRFrankenbot Passkey late, late, late tonight. Just send me a PM request and I will PM back with the Passkey number.

I already have one created, sorry about that. Anyone have objection to me posting it here? I can do the pm thing too.

I really don't know if there is any security implications of letting the passkey be known to the entire interwebs. I suppose we can wrap it in the spoiler tag to at least keep the casual lookers out (or in?)?

Should I keep my passkey secret?

In general, yes! Do not post a passkey on the Forum, etc. The natural exceptions to this general rule are using the passkey in the client (of course) as well as Folding@home web sites and related sites. We are working to use the passkey to allow donors to get more information about their Folding@home client machines. Also, we are working with partners to use the passkey to validate donor's names with their emails.

That is from the F@H passkey FAQ. I think we'll just stick to PM(s). So if anyone wants to fold for Frankie with the SMP client shoot me a PM and i'll get the passkey to ya.

Got one of my systems switched over today. It was crunching on a fairly large WU, so the credit won't show up until tomorrow.

OK I just put a GPU back on Frank. IF you do a GPU you do not need a passkey.

Download the tray client use TRFrankenbot for user and 2630 for team without
a passkey.

http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadWinOther
Download the first one. Read the guide first and then post with ?'s

My participation depends on you! I will try to match your points!

Up for the challenge?

Just flipped a second system over to Frankie...

In keeping with the spirit of things, my Frankenbot systems are my two "scariest" systems at the moment:
Image

On the left is an ABIT AN8-SLI with an Athlon64 X2 4800+. Yup, this one isn't even in a case; that's an inverted plastic "office in basket" thingy it's sitting on top of (the hard drive is tucked underneath). The motherboard, CPU, and RAM were given to me several months ago by a co-worker, with the caveat that it was really unstable. Turns out that one of the 4 original DIMMs was defective; removing the defective DIMM stabilized it. I removed another DIMM to use in my homebrewed router box, leaving the two DIMMs you see in the pic. Gotta love the gratuitous blinking LEDs on those Corsair XMS DIMMs!

On the right is an ASUS M3A78-EM with a Phenom II X2 545. This is basically my "screw around" box, that I use for various experiments. Normally it is the box I use for trying out different Linux distros; recently, it was also my router for a few weeks (until I built the previously mentioned dedicated router). Tonight it is being used to build an upgraded OS image for my web/SSH/etc. server, using Ubuntu 10.04 Server LTS. That's the software RAID-1 array hanging out the side. As I type this it is resyncing the RAID-1 array -- something glitched earlier this evening, causing one of the disks to drop out briefly; I currently suspect a loose/flaky SATA cable. It's folding during the RAID array rebuild, of course!

Place where I can get breakdown and average times based on CPU per WU?

Should have been more clear... A "chart" where you could see PPD or PPWU based on different CPU configurations?

I just added some GPU's to Frankenbot. May add more!

How is a goal off passing LordIcon which at one time was our
number one folder.

This is the last week of Oct.

Catching the Silent One is a good goal. I was watching Frankie's conquest list and had the same idea too. However, with our current leaders seemingly uninterested in the effort (yes JPinTO I'm looking at you, he never has been in previous years), I am not so sure. Even making Frankie scary to the point of being the #1 producer on the team is now looking very unlikely. :-?

If we can keep up the 50K+ points per day production we would catch LordIcon, but to be #1 ppd producer on the team Frankie may not be scary enough, this time.

Frankie is finally waking up! 70K for the last 2 days so catching the Silent One on this step whatever should be no problem.

Can it touch 100K ppd for 2nd on the TR top producers' list? Not the average I think, but at least for a day? ;)

That's more like it. Due to the lower point the average 7-day ppd Frankie has just climbed to 4th. I wonder if we can touch 100k on Halloween now that would be real scary. However, looks like passing the Silent One is a definite go tomorrow, yay! :D
