NFL XLV - Week 9

Sat Nov 06, 2010 10:42 am

It appears that my current record is 60-57, and honestly . . .I feel great that I'm still above .500!!! Amazing.

So . . .who does what this week. :-?

Sunday, Nov.7
NYJ @ Detroit - my upset pick of the week.
Miami @ Baltimore - I think the defense shows up this week
New England @ Cleveland - Can I have 2 upset picks of the week????? :)
San Diego @Houston
Chicago @ Buffalo - Worst record ever!! and its a record.
Arizona @ Minnesota - Is Favre alive?
Tampa Bay @ Atlanta - I know the analysts believe that Atlanta has it all right now, but I don't - and that accounts for nothing.
New Orleans @ Carolina - 3 upset picks in one week??? WHAT!!!?
NYG @ Seattle - The BEAST . . that's propbably Brandon Jacobs in this game.
Indy @ Philly - Vick will run all day. . . just not win
Kansas City @ Oakland - Could this be a freak of a show like the last two weeks?
dallas @ Green Bay - I can't even put their name in capitals. I think the cowboys look worse than Buffalo right now.

Monday, Nov.8
Pittsburgh @ Cinci - I have no clue what the Bengals are doing right now, but that coach MUST be worried about his job.

BYES: Denver, Jacksonville, San Fran, St. Louis, Tennessee, Washington

Considering Brett Favre shouldn't be starting, that Childress is gone after this season (or potentially during it), that Percy Harvin and Childress apparently came to blows yesterday and that the Vikings season is a complete waste... I can easily see Arizona winning today.

hey lex, I was going to taunt you over the Seattle pick this morning but got distracted. Now it looks like it's after the fact. :(

41-0 and counting, lol. What on earth made you think the crappiest winning team in the NFL could beat the Giants with their backup QB?

Hey at least your Browns pick panned out. Cleveland's in our division and all but I have to say I'm actually quite pleased Bill Bellicheat's merry band of a-holes got whipped this week. :D

After watching Mike Vick score again, I just saw this for the first time and laughed aloud.

Bud Light commercials are usually dumb, but this one tickled my funny bone.

I picked them because the giants have a weird habit of shooting themselves in the proverbial foot against insignificant teams. . . . at least with Eli at the helm.

And I was the only person to pick Oakland in the poll. Wat a weird day.

45-7, wow. I think the 'Boys could be the worst team in the NFL at this point. I mean, the Bills are winless but they're at least they're taking good teams into overtime and losing games by 3 points. Dallas is just in freefall.

I expect a massacre next week when they go to NY to play the Giants. And Wade Phillips better put in his application at McDonalds.

What I need tonight is a very low scoring game, or for Pittsburgh not to show up!!

I have Chad Ochocinco (Cincinnati WR) and Rashard Mendenhall (Pittsburgh RB) going against Stiffie's Hines Ward (Pittsburgh WR) and Cedric Benson (CIncinnati RB) in a close game tonight. I'm hoping that the Steelers run the ball a lot and the Bengals pass the ball a lot rather than vice-versa.

Edit: Now it's the 4th quarter and Chad has zero catches for zero yards. :(

Jesus christ, I almost had a heart attack. :o Why do you do this to me Steelers? I guess I shouldn't complain, but I'm only 20-something and I'm already too old for all these nailbiters where they squander or almost squander some huge lead.

That better end with, "to ruin my evening".

EDIT: Huge props to TO, though. Great performance tonight. The man may indeed be a drama queen, but to be still playing like he does at his age is amazing. I actually feel bad for him for having a good year on such a now-pretty-much-hopeless team.

Okay: results for this week.

-Only Lex did a prediction in this thread and he's 7-6. 67-63 overall.
-WhatIfSports simulation had an extremely dramatic improvement from last week's miserable showing and is 11-2. Next year I'll do a running tally as to how those fancy computers do overall.
-Paul The Psychic Octopus has died at age 2. Rest in peace, my squishy friend. :(

i think I'll play the predicting game next year, see if I can stay afloat...

You should just join the pick'em league. Stiffie and Mattsteg both correctly picked 12 out of 13 games this past week (missing only the Browns' trouncing of the Patriots). :o

I have no idea where Payton Hillis is showing up from, but he is using his opportunity to the full. He looks like when Tiki was with the Giants - it feels like almost 50% of the offense is going through him. If the Browns make the playoffs or not, I think he should be considered for either MVP or Most Improved Player or some trophy. . . .WOW!Since he's been their main RB, the Browns are looking good.

Next week is gonna be tough! Patriots playing the Steelers. Cinci in Indy. Ravens in Atlanta. . . . .Wicked stuff.

He came from Denver with draft picks in exchange for Brady Quinn.

Mr. Ochocinco made a 15-yard catch with less than two minutes left in the game to rack up a whopping 1.5 fantasy points. My team beat Idchafee's team by 1.0 fantasy points.

There must be a mass grave of chickens somewhere for you to get that!!! :D :D :D

I was just happy that it wasn't a very high scoring game. I now have to bench Marshawn Lynch since Seattle is sucking in every which way.
