It seems Tech Report is facing some sort of exodus so I decided this is a good time to jump back in. I haven't folded for around 3 years, but just last year I started again with my PS3, sporadically. I have to say I'm quite disappointed with 1000PPD, although I suspect it's boosted my total points from 25K to around 50K (where I'm right now). Clearly it's still faster than the Athlon XP 1800+ I was folding on before.
Right now I have my PAL 60GB PS3 folding, my new main rig, a Phenom II X6 1055T @ 3.7GHz folding on 4 cores in Gentoo in VMWare (I tried setting it to 6 cores, but VMWare wouldn't boot with 6), and I just got one of my CPUs in my dual PowerMac G5 1.8GHz folding.
So far, it seems that my Phenom II X6 with just -smp 4 will make more PPD than my PS3, even without the bonus (I'm still folding the first 10 A3s without bonus, just received my passkey). My Mac received a unit called project 2972, which according to

only gives you 80 points for at least 16 days of computing time. That's just pathetic. Did my Athlon XP also fold such low value WUs before? Also two clients refused to run at the same time, so I'm only folding on one CPU on my dual G5.
Oh, I'm looking for a site that displays stats that go back to 2004 and can tell me which machine contributed how many points. I know ExtremeOverclocking collects stats from 2004, but I don't know how to make it show me those stats from that far back. And it doesn't show me which type of client contributed how many points.
Future: I plan on getting a GTX470 for folding and gaming, since the cheapest GTX470 from Palit or Sparkle costs as little as evga's GTX 460 FTW. That should put me within the top 10 TR folders, which I think is a bit too easy... but I want to be up there nevertheless, so I'm not complaining. So far, folding has discouraged me from playing as much games as I might have on my PS3/PC, which is a very good thing. If my scheme to make money from the internet works, I might just build something small and powerful for the bigadv units. Probably a microATX LGA1366 build.
