Starcraft 2 Battle.net Friend exchange list.

Tue Sep 14, 2010 12:14 am

Do to the recent Starcraft 2 buzz in the gaming forums. I figured that I could start a thread for friends list exchanges with TR regulars.

My Battle.net handle: MasterMoo
Character Code: 354.
Region:USA

Not sure if you need or reveals Real IDs to get it working. If it is the case, it might end up discouraging users from disclosing their anonymity.

It may be a good idea to include region since you still only play within the same region. And no, you can add the nick and dont need Real ID.

You may not need the Real ID to add a player, but won't you see their "real name" once they're added as a friend?

I think Real ID only shows real names if you add by email address. Not sure. Anyway:

It looks like adding friends by username + character code doesn't reveal Real ID.

Heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work, you can always hit them with it.

Real ID shows name, always I think, no matter how you add it. In Game friends only shows the nickname.

Just disable RealID and stop wondering about how it might work.

I used my free rename to pick something goofy. Neekappa.661.

Also, promoted to gold 1v1 tonight. whoo. The match I got promoted on, the oppo teched to tanks, turtled in (and in Delta Quadrant you can do that with your backdoor natural), and then teched up to BC's and ran into my base with 6 BC's. 4-5 Vikings and around 15 stimmed marines being healed by a couple medivacs were enough to take them down. Ended up pushing into his main, couldn't touch the PF in the back without getting hammered, so I searched around and found his hidden expo where he was trying to get barracks up and producing. Mashed that down and got a promotion. Whoooo.

Slightly off topic from the thread, but how did you hold off the BCs? BCs have 3 base armor, so they're more or less impervious to marines and thors. It sounds like he had more vikings than you too.

Did he miss-micro? Did he fly over turrets? I don't really see how someone could lose in that situation.

the vikings were mine. He didn't have any that I know of, just BC's. I just had alot of healbuses and stim. I always get +1/+1 on the marines so they do an extra 1 damage, and I get +1 attack for ships too so the vikings were doing more damage. The new way BC's fire kinda sucks against armor because every single shot loses 1 point of damage, so firing 4 times a second they lose 4 points of damage every second. Stim speeds the marines rate of fire way up. I don't think he was microing at all, which probably explains why I won it. He was just 1a moving at my base.

I think BCs deal 8 damage per shot, so the +1 armor will eliminate about 13% of the BCs damage output. That's pretty good. The +1 attack for the vikings is a little questionable in TvT. Vikings do 28 base damage per burst (2 * 14 per shot) and that increases to 30 when upgraded. That's an increase of less than 7% in effectiveness.

Since everything that attacks vikings in TvT (besides vikings) has low damage per shot (thor, marine,bc,ghost) I find that it's best to upgrade air armor first. Air armor is especially helpful for Terran because two of Terran's air units can't even shoot.

Air-to-air, the BC only does 6 per shot. It does 8 to ground though. Though yeah, I can see why the air armor might be a better upgrade.

I have a vent server if anyone wants to put together a team. I'm still fighting my way out of Gold in 1v1, primarily as Zerg.
I have some good ideas for 2v2 that I think could get even higher than Gold but it's hard to get a good partner in random quick matches.

Also here's a couple links that might help you guys out:
