Phenom II X4 965 BE

Tue Dec 28, 2010 11:43 pm

I am trying to OC as far as possible without messing too much with the voltage. 12hours of Prime95 is my base for stability.

Board: ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 - AM3
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB
PSU: Antec EarthWatts EA750 750W
Mem: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) 1.65v
CAS:7 tCL: 7 tRCD: 10 tRP: 10 tRAS: 24
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE 3.4 (200x17) 125W

Passed: Test (235x17) = 3.995 with the RAM at DDR3: 1333MHz and NB set to auto
Passed: Test (211x18) = 3.798
Passed: Test (200x19) = 3.8
Passed: Test (203x19) = 3.857
Failed: (204x19) = 3.876 Loaded Win 7, but did not pass test.

I was reading on here somewhere about the value of raising your NB, so I began modifying that variable.
The system passed/failed on the same settings whether the NB is set @2400 or @2600.

Final OC?
Stable at the following...
CPU: 203x19 = 3857MHz
NB@ 2657MHz
DDR: 1624MHz

This is air cooled, no adjustments to voltage. Recomendations, or should I be happy with this?
Probably PUI. Definitely an كافر

The AOD benchmark will generally fail pretty quickly if there are memory problems, so I would use that. Seems to me the Prime bench does not jump around in memory that much.

Is there something in particular that you are trying to get better performance in, or just overclocking for the sake of overclocking? If it is the latter, then there's just such thing as "just be happy".

I'm just trying to get what I can out of it. First build in six years, so I feel rusty on the OC front.
